Autumn Celebration
September 23, 2006
Miworth Community Hall

The Shire of Cold Keep invites you to join us in celebrating the beginning of autumn in a day of fun and revelry:

The day opens with a Beginner Rapier clinic, taught by Cold Keep Champion of Blades, Henry Hawkyns.

This will be followed by a heavy prize tourney: either bear pit style or round robin, (depending on number of participants) NOTE: to enter the tourney, each fighter must contribute a small prize of up to $10 in value (something useful, folks!). At the end of the tourney, each fighter will select his/her own prize based on a secret formula known only to Brennan.

Then comes the archery fun shoot to test the skills of archers experienced and new to the art; to reward the archer who best personifies those skills, Markus Pheilsmid will make a customized arm bracer.

After the shooting is done, there will be a rapier prize tourney, bear pit style, to be followed by a card match (depending on number of participants) the tourney organizers will award a small prize to the winner of the day.

And if that is not enough, throughout the afternoon, there will be a display of Arts & Sciences entires, with voting to choose the populous choice taking place just before the feast. This competition is a “warm up” for our A&S championship in May 2007: single (new, never been entered in competition) entry with documentation. An entrant may put in more than one entry.

To round off the day, there will be a potluck feast and Her Highness’s Court. The eveninng will finish off in revelry, and – if we can persuade the singers to sing – bardic entertainment as well.

NOTE: We will be graced by the presence of Her Highness Tatiana, Princess Avacal. This is an excellent opportunity to see our deserving members given awards – get your recommendations in as soon as you can! It’s easy, just go to http://www.avacal.antir.sca.org/officer/award_rec_files/avacal_award_rec.html and fill in the form. Don’t know what the different awards are? Check out http://heraldry.avacal.net/awards.htm.
