Blatha an Oir and Dragons Lair Candlemas
Good Gentles All, the Baronies of Blatha an Oir and Dragon’s Laire invite you to Candlemas where we will have an All-Day-Long Feast and activities for all.
Held at Key Penninsula Civic Center on February 7th 2025.
17010 S Vaughn Rd NW, Key Center, WA
In addition to the amazing feasting, we will have activities for everyone. Join Blatha an Oir’s Scribal officer for open scribal, there will be an assortment of classes (more details coming soon), and a sit down with the Coronets for those that might have interest in what being a coronet entails.
SCRIBAL CONTEST:
In honor of Candlemas, we present to you…
The First (and Possibly Only) Medieval Cat Pic Contest!
We are searching baronies far and wide for the images that best exemplify the spirit of the most noble of creatures…the medieval feline. Playful, daring, and often utterly unrecognizable, this creature has graced (or perhaps tormented) many a household throughout antiquity.
And so we challenge the people of our baronies to compete for the honor of creating the best representation of the medieval cat! You need not be an artist–all that is required is a sense of humor and fun. Entries may come in the form of tracing, drawing, painting, macaroni art, whatever–as long as they are made by human hands (we request no AI be used).
The winners will be decided by a vote of the populace and announced at Candlemas Evening Court. There will be a small prize for the top 3 candidates to be handed out after court.
The Rules
You need not be present to win. Those who need to submit an online entry can email Sibilia directly at blathaanoir.scribe@antir.org, FB message, or text 253.289.4503.
Once again, we are bringing back charity tournaments for both rapier and heavy fighters. The tournament encourages a donation, but is not required, for entry. The tournament donations will go to benefit the Rainbow Center.
Finally, we are having a Terrific Trios Largess Derby for all of our artisans. If you wish to enter, please create three of a similar item (i.e. three necklaces, pockets, notebooks, etc.) and bring with you to the event. Entries will need to be present by noon, and voting from the populous in attendance will begin after the lunch remove.
