Notes for the day:
1.
Midsummer Rose
competition happens today. Any thing made with
“Rose”. (example: Rose Water Cookies, Rose hip Jam, Rose Bath
Salts……). If your entry is meant to be eaten, please
be sure to indicate whether or not it includes
gluten. If work will not allow last year’s Rose to
attend she has asked that other ladies who do not enter and Her
Highness Chiara judge for her.
2.
‘Defender’
tourneys are open to all entrants. Should you be victorious, we
will expect to see you at next year’s Fields of Gold to
coordinate the choosing of your successor.
3.
Classes. We have room for more classes
– arts & sciences, marshal arts, bardic…. (Yes,
this is a
hint.) There may be a
materials fee for classes – ask your instructor.
4.
Children’s
activities require a parental presence, they are not intended as
babysitting. Both of
our youth stewards are brand-new volunteers and we do not wish to
break them.
5.
All tourneys
begin with lists and inspection. Please report
promptly. Lists are
scheduled to close within 15 minutes of start time.
6.
Helm lunch
– Gentlemen, please provide food with list of
contents. Ladies,
please come prepared to bid for food and lunchtime
company.
7.
Potluck –
There is NO FEAST FEE for the Saturday evening feast, because we
would love it if everyone could attend. We are hoping to be able to
organize servers and entertainment. Please bring a list of
ingredients for your dish, as many of our expected guests have
serious allergies.
You will be responsible for your own food storage, as there is no
storage room at the Inn and the Fields of Gold ice-house is still
in the planning stages. We suggest the following
contributions:
a.
Long-distance
travelers: Breads,
cheeses, fruits, salads, sweets.
b.
Locals: Meats, soups, savories, salads,
sweets.
