Come one
and all to celebrate Spring at our annual Maypole Faire. This is
our public demo, bring out your finest to show people what we do in
the Society. Activities include archery and thrown weapons ranges,
both Heavy and Rapier fighting, a variety of displays and
activities showing daily life in the medieval ages. We will start
the day with an egg hunt to crown the Lord and Lady of the May. All
are welcome to participate in the dance around the maypole Saturday
afternoon!
Join us
for a potluck dinner Saturday night. The Shire is providing a
variety of hearty soups (vegetarian option will be available) We
ask each person bring a dish to share (salads, breads, finger foods
or desserts are suggested) Let’s decorate the space and bring
back the pageantry. All are encouraged to share a story or
song.
Site
fee: $15 for adults 18 and over (includes $5 member discount), $10
for youths ages 8-17, kids 7 and under no
charge.
Day trip
fee: $7 for adults (includes $5 member discount) $5 for youths, 7
and under no charge
Mundane
family cap: $40 (including member
discount)
Miscellanea:
As much
as we love our pets, we respectfully ask only service animals be
brought on site.
Smoking
is allowed, but prefer to be kept to camp
areas.
Showers
are available on site, keep in mind they are coin
operated.
Unless
otherwise arranged, cars should be moved to the parking area
outside the main gate after unloading
Fire
pits are welcome, there needs to be 12” clearance to avoid
scorching the grass and a fire suppression device
nearby.
