Event Title: Mountain Edge Equestrian Workshop Dates: Friday
November 3 – Sunday November 5 Location: The Dragons’ Den
Farm, Newberg Oregon Summary: Co-sponsored by the Shire of
Mountain Edge, the Madrone Equestrian Guild, and the
(incipient) Kingdom Equestrian Guild, this workshop has two
primary “tracks”: (1) horse people new to SCA equestrian (2)
heavy fighters interested in the experimental mounted combat
(but who don’t have a horse or are not experienced
riders). Mounted and unmounted classes are offered. We will
have 5 or 6 horses that may be borrowed during this event,
there is (limited) stabling for haul-in horses (health papers
required), and there is crash/camping/RV or travel trailer
space (all limited). Pre-registration with the equestrian
liason – email is OK – is essential to reserve horse or human
space at the site. Fees must be mailed by deadline to get the
pre-reg discount. Site opens at noon Friday, closes at 6PM on
Sunday; classes run Saturday all day with a
potluck/social/video Saturday evening and in the morning on
Sunday, to allow all to depart by Sunday mid-afternoon.
People hauling horses or bringing RVs or travel trailers are
strongly encouraged to arrive before dark on Friday. Fees:
gate fee $12 pre-registration; $15 at gate; NMS fee applies
