Good evening An Tir! For those who weren’t able to join us for 12th Night, we wanted to make sure we shared an important announcement that was made in our Court.
During the Reign of Eirik and Brynhildr, it was discovered that there is a passage in the SCA’s corpora, Section IV.D.2 that reads as follows:
“Royalty may delegate to any subject the execution of any legitimate royal power for a specific
instance, such as the transmission of an award to an individual named and selected by them, subject
to the laws and customs of the realm. “
Many may have seen us visiting events in 3 Mountains and Lions Gate as Royal Prince and Princess and using this convention to assist the Crowns to make new landed Baronial representatives, court baronies, as well as offer some peerages.
We, Nicolai and Ana, having spent much time thinking about this resource, and believe that it holds the key to furthering our service to Our populace.
Upon council with our Princes/Princesses/Princeps of Summits and Tir Righ- we have requested that they too, assist us sometimes with Kingdom Business up to and including the offering and making of Peers.
**Edit for Clarification: All candidates, their peers and the sitting Royalty of the Principalities will be involved in discussions of what best meets the candidates wishes for their ceremonies- this is not a dictation by the Crown, it is an opening of options for additional times/places for ceremonies.
These awards will still come from our hands, but will be delivered deeper into the vast reaches of An Tir’s lands by our sitting Coronets on our behalf, providing further options for populace to be recognized by the Crown, as well as greater accessibility in general.
Therefore, we ask to any and all populace, please submit your award recommendations, please include those folks on the edges who’ve traditionally not seen a lot of the Crown. Let us shed and share light in all the Corners of An Tir!

As the Winter Rains fell upon the lands of the west side. Their Majesties Morgan and Livia travelled to lands of Stromgard and Dragon’s Mist to speak of the great deeds of the people of the Kingdom.
The following gentles received an Award of Arms for their participation in the Kingdom, for giving their time to the SCA.
Maugris of Three Mountains, Roxanne of Three Mountains, and Marshal of Dumfries. A great cheer for the new Armigers of An Tir. These gentiles have been instructed to seek out the Heralds to help create suitable arms to be displayed.
Penelope Violette was given by their Majesties hand, the Lion’s Strength for their consistent and significant contributions to the Kingdom of An Tir for 20 years or more.
Ikenaga Asahi was awarded a Jambe de Lion, given for showing excellence in the arts. This is a Grant Level award, Ikenaga may display their arms with a Heraldic Achievement.
Michael Leylan Sinclaire was awarded a Sable Scrivener, awarded for excellent service to the Scribal Community.
Siobhan an Sionnaich Ruaidh was awarded a Goutte de Sang, A Goutte is a Grant of Arms for Service to the Kingdom, Siobhan may also display their arms with a Heraldic Achievement.
Grimnir Vandreran was awarded the Queen’s Guard Spear, The Guard spear is an award given by a Queen of An Tir to recognize a member of the Queen’s Guard during Their Reign.
Finn Grimm Baneson and Eduardo Francesco Maria Lucrezia were given The Grace of An Tir, The Grace of An Tir is granted by the Royal Consort for gracious and chivalric behavior. The symbol of the award is a fieldless apple blossom quarterly Or and argent. Much like the flower which bears fruit to enrich and sustain, so too do those members of Our populace who in deed display grace, courtesy, and chivalry above and beyond that which is expected. Recipients will be recognized for leading by example and in so doing promoting these ideals upon which the Society was founded.

I hope you are staying warm and well as we head into the festive season. I bring the words of Their Majesties Morgan and Livia. On December 2nd, 2023, Their Majesties travelled to the Baronial Lands of Glymm Mere. Where they sat amongst the populace and broke bread and had these things to say about the great deeds of their people.
Mikeal Macleod of Blatha an Oir, for his prowess on the field and leadership in battle was awarded a L’esperon.
Sedanias maqq as Voenacunas of Blatha an Oir, for their service to the lands, and serving behind the scenes was awarded a Sanquin Thorn.

The final award in Their Majesties Court, A Lion’s Strength, for over 20 years of service to the Kingdom of An Tir. Was awarded to Alessandra de Montefeltro.

On November 18th, 2023, the Best Bardic Circle was held to choose Their Majesties new Bardic Champion. On this day several amazing bards stepped forward to compete for the title, Margaret ingen Domnaill was Victorious and named An Tir’s Champion.
During morning court Their Majesties Morgan and Livia presented Thorin Styrkarrson with an Award of Arms.
Evening Court brought the announcement of the Champion. A presentation from Duke Styrkarr to Sigrun Skaldsdottir of her Laurel Scroll, a Runestone made by Duschess Inga’s hands.
Phillip of Norwoode was presented with an Award of Arms
Colette la Trouvere was presented with the Lion’s Troubador, stepping down as the Bardic Champion. Thank you for your service and for sharing your love of song.
Ragnar Styrkarrson was Elevated to the Order of Chivalry. Knighted amongst his peers and family.
Morgaina atte Woodlonde was made a Court Baroness.
All this and a full day of learning and comradery in the Inlands at Collegium.
