What are the Arts & Sciences?
In the SCA, Arts & Sciences encompass the research and hands-on knowledge of crafts, trades, sciences and tools of pre-17th century people. We strive to learn, practice, and teach these skills to anyone who is interested in them. We create practical things like clothing, armor, food, and household goods as well as decorative things such as embroidery, jewellery, and illuminated award documents. We study how medicine influenced society and what tools and materials were available to scientists as they explored the world around us.
