Next Kingdom Seneschal (Starting January 2026): Lærifaðir Phelan Tolusmidr 

Bill Lillibridge is a licensed civil engineer working for the Idaho Soil and Water Conservation Commission. His work focus is river restoration and aquatic organism passage through roadway structures. He grew up on the edge of National Forest land, and enjoys fly fishing, hiking, foraging (mushrooms and huckleberries), camping, and downhill skiing in the great outdoors. He is a avid rockhound and scoutmaster and shares his crazy hobbies with his wife Diane and their two sons.

Phelan Tolusmiðr, OL, OP, KSCA, is a migration-era Celt that was quietly working at his glass works one day when a friendly band of vikings wandered by and “offered” him a chance to go on adventure. When not a-viking, he spends time crafting lampwork beads and visiting neighboring lands with his wife Tova Fransdottir.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Officer: Baroness Genevieve de Longavalle, OP

Nina has a mundane background in counseling psychology, with a focus on trauma, multiculturalism, and DEI. Additionally, she has training and professional experience in restorative justice practices, civil rights advocacy, operations and policy analysis, organizational assessment, and program creation from planning through strategic implementation.

Genevieve is a member of the Order of the Pelican, a Baroness of the Court of An Tir and a huge advocate for DEIB within the Kingdom of An Tir who believes in community, collaboration, and collective accountability for a healthy society.

The office of the Kingdom Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) Officer is now accepting applications for the position. 

The Kingdom Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) Officer supports the SCA and Kingdom’s commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants. The office is responsible for providing guidance and support to promote consistency of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging practices within the Kingdom of An Tir.  

Duties include: 

• Maintain and support DEIB practice framework aligned with the SCA’s mission and values 

• Recommend best practices and policy improvements to support equity and inclusion

• Collaborate with Kingdom officers to ensure consistent implementation of inclusive practices across disciplines 

• Maintain educational material and workshops to support DEIB awareness 

• Foster conversations and initiatives around accessibility, cultural representation and respectful historical reenactment 

• Collaborate and coordinate work with the Kingdom Seneschal to align implementation and discuss future initiatives 

Preferred Skills and Experience include 

• Experience in diversity, equity and inclusion work 

• Strong communication and facilitation skills 

• Ability to navigate sensitive topics with professionalism, empathy and discretion 

• Demonstrated commitment to creating inclusive environments in historical reenactment, education or similar spaces 

This role is not involved in sanctions, investigations, complaints or bullying and harassment concerns as those matters are not part of this office and will be directed to the Kingdom Seneschal’s office.

The office of the Kingdom Seneschal is in search of a replacement and applications for the position are now open.  

The Kingdom Seneschal is responsible for the administrative operation of the Kingdom of An Tir and is the sole corporate officer in the Kingdom. The modern world recognizes Kingdom Seneschals as Regional Vice Presidents and they are the legal and administrative representative of the Kingdom. The Kingdom Seneschal maintains and updates Kingdom Law as well as the Kingdom’s business records.  

Duties include (but are not limited to)

• Maintaining, updating and clarifying Kingdom Law and policies
• Reviewing and approving of Principality Laws and Branch Customaries 
• Directing activities of branch Seneschals and deputies
• Reviewing both quarterlies reports sent to Society and Curia reports from Kingdom Officers
• Scheduling and running Kingdom Curia meetings
• Being an active member of the Kingdom Financial Committee, reviewing purchase requests and reviewing and accepting Kingdom event bids
• Being an active member of the An Tir West War Financial Committee
• Reviewing and coordinating all complaint and sanction related activities

Successful candidates will be contacted to have interviews, and a decision will be made by August. There will be a training period before change over occurs.

The office of the Kingdom Chatelaine is now accepting applications for the position. 

The Kingdom Chatelaine is the officer responsible for introducing new or prospective members to the Current Middle Ages, for training, advising and coordinating public outreach, newcomer acquisition and retention for the Kingdom of An Tir. 

Duties include: 

• Coordinating and monitoring the efforts of branch chatelaines within the Kingdom 
• Developing and maintaining materials for recruitment, newcomer orientation and retention within the conventions of the Society 
• Coordinating local officer training and monitoring reporting  
• Maintaining a knowledge base for SCA demos, and assisting branches with questions 

This position presents the opportunity to help preserve the rich traditions of the Society and the Kingdom and assure its future by assisting with recruiting and retaining of newcomers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help introduce people to this game and will have a long-term positive impact on participants throughout the Kingdom.

The successful candidate will be working with the outgoing Chatelaine in preparation for taking the position at 12th Night 2026. 

Having held a Chatelaine position, while not required, is preferred.

ALL RESEARCH PAPER DRAFTS are due at 11:59pm on Feb. 9th, 2025.

ALL FINAL RESEARCH PAPERS AND DOCUMENTATION are due at 11:59pm on February 16th, 2025.

ENTRY TYPES: You may enter the Championship in the following ways: Full Entry, presenting 3 different Entries (this is the only entry level competing for the Championship) Single Entry, presenting 1 or 2 Entries Display for Feedback Only, presenting 1 or 2 Entries

FULL ENTRIES (CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRIES): You must be a PAID MEMBER of the SCA to enter the Championship, and be willing to commit to a full year as Champion, including at minimum attending Kingdom events as you are able to support Their Majesties at court etc. As Champion, your site fees will be waived at all Kingdom events during your term.
